@Northwro Ah yes, by recent I mean within the last decade, especially stuff from about 5 years ago. Being that Neurosis has been around for 25 give or take a couple years. Not to derail this conversation from how great this track is by the way.

@skysilcox It's been 3 and 1/2 years since Given to the Rising was released. They released their Live at Roadburn 2007 CD a couple of months ago, but I'm ready for a new studio album from Neurosis.

@Northwro Yea, it really reminds me of Neurosis' more recent efforts. Definitely its own beast but It has that vibe to it.

@luk1fer666 I remember hearing this song on the radio right after I had awakened during the night, and it was playing on a college radio show called "Must Have Metal" They had the song before the Vertebrae album had been released. I knew that it was Enslaved, but the second half of this song is what makes you think for a moment that this is a band doing what it does best but at the same time, doing something different than the norm. And on the plus side, the new CD is out in 2 weeks.

This is a great song. The part starting at 2:50 is killer and sounds like something Rush was doing when they were kicking ass.
