to me this is truly the point when they became the perfect blend between progressive and black metal. love all of their work including their older works and newer. fucking sounds fantastic

Really disappointing to see such divisiveness amongst fellow metalheads...enjoy the music, gents - there are as many tastes in the universe as there are songs. That said, Enslaved fucking rules - just discovered them and they are a hidden gem in the metal world. Saw them in San Francisco in February...great f'ing show!

All Enslaved rules. Early, mid-period, current. They are an important band in the genre who have never shied away from change, all while retaining the core sound that has always made them who they are. In short, they are one of the best fucking metal bands of all time.

dude they have not even sold 1 million albums total in there whole career and emperor only sold 500 thousand.. not alot of people know about enslaved only die hard metal fans do. i play enslaved at work im lucky if maybe 1 person a week knows what the fuck im listening to and its usually the same person. go back to your underground music like "The bleedin pussy dicks" (BPD) and "Cumdangler featuring Rizow"

@MrDodstink Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure Enslaved never stated they were a Black Metal band. Many are misled cause of their connection with some of the prominent BM bands in Norge. And as far the "Death Metal vocals" go: being inspired by DM bands such as Autopsy and Carcass I think it is a logical step. Or maybe it has something to do with the contect of the lyrics. You figure it out...
