lyrics:

Reckless men - So righteous, so clean

Towards the light - So bashful, so pure

Who told you to abandon life

Your strength, free will

And bow for the light?

The light! And turn from the spinning wheel

Fear of the judgment!

Obey!

Ref (x2):

You have the key to mystery

Pick up the runes; unveil and see

Judgment comes, before us lie

The paths of war and you may die

You have the key, cross over and see

The old and wind-cold tree

Walk the steps and you´ll hear the winds that cry

Search beyond the blinded eyes

Listen before you preach

Don´t leave yourself behind

Honor life, when life has ceased

Welcome the dawn

Beware the glory tales

Watch their deeds - So just and fair

Crusaders - Appointed by God

Who told you to step inside and preach?

Did you forget the daggers lurking in the dark?

Couldn´t you listen or didn´t you ever learn how?

Were you saved?

Were you saved, so you could slaughter with grace?

Ref (x2):

You have the key to mystery

Pick up the runes; unveil and see

Judgment comes, before us lie

The paths of war and you may die

You have the key, cross over and see

The old and wind-cold tree

Walk the steps and you´ll hear the winds that cry

Search beyond the blinded eyes

Listen before you preach

Don´t leave yourself behind

Honor life, when life has ceased

Welcome the dawn

Beware the glory tales

Hold on, don't fade away

Don't be afraid to bleed, afraid to dream

Let the elders enlighten the path

They have cried for you, died for you

Blackwater Park is their most popular album and it's a lot like Enslaved in a lot of ways. Watershed is another great one, and Deliverance is pretty brutal.

The idea of sub-genres is to make it easier for fans of a certain style to find other artists of the same style. I disagree with you and everyone who gets a top rated comment saying the exact same thing, because arguing over the sub-genre is yes, stupid. But discussing the finer points of the incredibly huge musical genre called metal is hugely important to people like me, who hadn't heard of Enslaved until I was informed that they sound like... well, THIS!

This song opens my mind to a new dark spiritual dimension.

Nah come off it, people are allowed to analyse music if they wish to and they can get a better sense of enjoyment out of the music.

iv'e really come to like higher pitched scream\growl vocals more than the lower growls of death metal.it just seems to possess more emotion, while still remaining harsh

Personally I'm just tired of finding all this bickering and unfounded bullshit all over the internet. I will never get rid of it, but trying to decrease the amount is something worthwhile.. as for riding Horses, I'm frightened shitless by the huge beasts.. I have never been on one in my life;)

Some people use sub-genres to find more of the same, or similar styles. Some people enjoy analysing art to allow themselves a better understanding of it. Some people can't help but question the decisions and lives of other people, seemingly more so when those decisions have no bearings on the critic's life. Maybe just let people say what they want, express themselves as they please, and get off your own high horse?

I was making a joke haha but I didn't actually know anything about opeth, I might as well check them out. Have any song/album reccomendations, I'm into melodic stuff (gorgoroth being the least melodic and blandest black metal on the planet, and what band never wants their lyrics published lololol what a fruity pie)

Well the epic driving riff for this song is just 3 power chords. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Simplicity is often the hardest thing to do elegantly. The timing of the chord changes are beutifully odd though, I really enjoy playing it and listening to it. One of my favourites

Not particularly although it probably depends who you ask, Enslaved is progressive Black/Viking metal. Opeth is more Progressive Death with a few nods to Black metal. Nah Opeth is male led (Or was that a joke at Mikael Akerfeldts expense). Everyone heaps praise on them but personally i find there music uninteresting and a little washed out and devoid of passion. Just my opinion though, you might enjoy them thoroughly for all i know.
