From Afar is the fourth studio album by the Finnish folk metal band Ensiferum, as well as the first to feature keyboardist Emmi Silvennoinen. It was released on September 9, 2009 on Spinefarm Records. The album was produced by Nightwish producer Tero Kinnunen and Victory Songs producer Janne Joutsenniemi. It was mixed by HIM producer Hiili Hiilesmaa. The limited edition of the album includes a cover of Swedish folk rock group Nordman.

I love how the songs stick to Nordic/Celtic history and lengends /prophecies. If you have that ancestory you really get these songs. Amazing! Even their band name Ensiferum, Nordic land of rebirth, were all heros who died in battle went. sort of like english heaven. But way better. I love this band!11 years ago

Lol. Actually, in 2005 they released a compilation of their singles, which isn't a studio album. A studio album, by definition, "A studio album contains newly written and recorded or previously unreleased or remixed material, distinguishing itself from a compilation or reissue album of previously recorded material, or live recording made at a performance venue."
