I heard live Gigli ..,Bjorling and Pavarotti. Of the 3 Gigli had the biggest. voice .Pavarotti 's voice at 49 was bigger than Bjorling's.

Proper vocal technique, requires, breathing, and also, from the diaphraghm, the vocal line, and breath line, also and lessons, also are important.and knowing when to reach the hight notes.and when to stay steady, all voices are different,Caruso and Lanza, are also great, and different, and Pavarotti, too but also great.Anyone wanting to sing must see a reputable coach and take lessons, and also practice everyday.vocalize, and also take a day off let the voice rest.music is a gift, respect it.Thanks, and God bless.

Yes, I agree, it is somewhat strange to hear a modern orchestra and no needle scratching.

Its Caruso. Sorry, I was surprised about the sound. Caruso was the best operasinger ever.

Look, I uploaded this. The original recording was recorded February 24, 1913 in New York. In this the original voice of Caruso was extracted digitally and new orchestration was made in Vienna in 1999 or 2000. From a collection called Caruso: the Digital Comeback. It is disc no. 3, track no. 13 titled Donna non vidi mai.

The music is recorded in 1950s the voice is Caruso but its overlay on a Jussi Björling recording. I am not sure this is the original but its easy to hear the similarity. JUSSI BJÖRLING "Donna non vidi mai " Manon Lescaut 1949

I had difficulties when I started listening to the old Caruso recordings; now I hardly heard the scratching.

Caruso always gives us more, more than we have a right to expect, more than any other tenor can nor has done. The final high Bflat has a quality of "lift" that is pure Caruso., and thrilling!

What never cease to amaze me is how Caruso could blend such power with such beauty and sweetness. This is a marvelous restoration of voice and instrument, a rare case when technology enhances, rather than distorts, the original.

ENRICO CARUSO (February 25, 1873 – August 2, 1921) was an Italian tenor. He sang to great acclaim at the major opera houses of Europe and North and South America, appearing in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires that ranged from the lyric to the dramatic.

This is wonderful and in his prime at age 39 so why a surprise? You are more a jussi fan so you prefer the lyric sound Jussi always had being a more lyric tenor then Caruso's spinto sound in his prime here and later Caruso's voice darkened partly because he smoked a lot but he died at 48 and it still of course had quality The Jussi fans cannot , many of them except the fact it was not Big. He was a lyric spinto tenor and it carried but was not BIG as on records but big enough! I did heard him
