+James Tulk +szymusiek1980 That’s it, I quit playing. 30 yrs. I can’t play nearly that well. Seriously, she’s amazing but the superlatives are a bit premature, she’s not likely to revolutionize composing like Mozart or piano playing like Art Tatum, genius like that comes along once a generation or so, her compositions are pleasant but it’s hard to say if she’ll evolve into a great composer. Prodigies usually plateau at some point and contemporaries catch up or even exceed them, too much praise could set her up for future disappointment. In a few years she won’t have the advantage of being a cute precocious 13 yr. old, she’ll be surrounded by other adult musicians as good or even better. Will she still stand out then? I hope she has people in her life who keep her grounded and remind her of the fickle nature of the music biz and the extreme difficulties of transitioning from child to adult star.10 years ago
