Ed Mills! Cool! I saw the ELP laser light show at the Griffith Park Planetarium in Los Angeles, also in 1976. The sound system was awesome. Perhaps the same show, different venue? My GF and I went, not expecting it to be so spectacular. But it was! an experience I will relish my entire life. The Pink Floyd 3D laser light show i saw in Nashville was not even close!

The piano solo in Lachesis is the greatest piano piece of all time. Every time I hear the end of the piano solo (around 4:20) it brings tears to my eyes. The dynamics of the piece are unmatched.I was brought up on Dave Brubeck, and he was incredible, but for my money this is the single best piano piece ever.

When you want to hear shear beauty, listen to this... I was a junior in high school when I heard this, my brother brought this home and said, you gotta hear these guys, that was 43 years ago. They still grab us deeply...

Well prog rock wasn't always mainstream. ELP got a lot of bad reviews from critics. They were pretty much hipster music of that time.

indeed! They really tied everything together, just look how Yes had collapsed after Wakeman (and Anderson) left the group

i wish i could, i was born a couple of decades too late for that. It seems i missed the days when mainstream music was worth something
