Keith Emerson, Greg Lake und Carl Palmer, besser bekannt als britische Supergroup des Progressive Rock "Emerson, Lake & Palmer", live im Beat Club am 31.12.1970!

The supergroup "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" is one of most successful rock bands in the subgenre of the Progressive rock. The band members Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums) showed their musical virtuosity in interpretations of classical pieces like "Pictures of an Exhibiton" by Russian composer Modest Mussorgski. The live album with the same title, which was issued as a low-priced record in 1970, helped the band to enormous popularity in Europe and USA. The song "Knife-Edge" from their debut album "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" is loosely based on Leoš Janáček "Sinfonietta" (1926). And the middle section of the song features parts of Johann Sebastian Bachs "First French Suite in D minor" (known as Bach Works Catalogue No. 812). Ironically both composers were not named on the original album release in 1970 ...

Non credo ci sia bisogno di presentarli; la sezione musicale qui in questa community è di ben alto livello.PS adoro le loro suite, ora sinfoniche ora liriche per poi passare repentinamente alla psichedelia e alla pura sperimentazione. UNICI!

In that time there wasn't after effects to get a better chroma key on the screen. And also Emerson wears a blue/green suit perfect for projecting the chroma images, the director of the tv show, could say him to wear any different colour suit. But seeing the final result, the suit looks cool with those flashes.

While we all consider Emerson a master of the Moog today, this clip strongly illustrates his learning process of the instrument itself. The buildup on the cusp of mastery many times produces the best shit and this certainly delivers in that aspect.

If someone dressed like Emerson today, he'd be accused of being gay.

Wonderful, perfect. ELP why I like more than other progressive groups? It is because apart from mixing baroque classical music with progressive, their songs have good melody. They are truly works of art some records of these friends.Maravilloso , perfecto. ¿ por qué ELP me gusta mas que otros grupos progresivos? Es porque aparte de mezclar la musica clasica barroca con lo progresivo, sus canciones tienen buena melodia. Son realmente obras de arte algunos discos de estos amigos.
