Thomas, I will never disagree with you on Elvis'ability. The version they compare to Gerry and the Pacemakers was not his best. This one blows Gerry Mardsen away! GM did do well on some songs outside of Liverpool, but Elvis did well all over the planet!

Elvis did several renditions of YNWA and there is one that puts Gerry and the Pacemakers to shame, Not to be argumentative, but they were a singing group and their combined talent wouldn't even come close to Elvis best version.

I cannot argue that this is not the quality of which Elvis could deliver. At his best, none stood against him, but in his later years, between the drugs and stress he lived in, unfortunately he was not the Elvis of earlier years. In my personal opinion, the Elvis from Hawaii concert was one of his best. Nothing there was below his usual high standards! Long live the King!

Elvis is the Greatest singer that ever lived. He had it all the most Electrifying entertainer of all time. They will never be another of his Talent again. Now people don't even have to have singing ability or talent . He had big heart and was a great humanitarian . Never ask for anything in return, just gave his all !!!!

This is covered as close to the original from the movie Carousel. as possible. You can hear the spiritual beautiful soul in the vocals, this is just a 1 take and it still beats Gerry and the Pacemakers hands down.

What so many miss with Elvis's singing style, is that it was and still is uniquely his own! No one ever has duplicated it (even the best tribute artists!) or improved on it. He had a sense of the dramatic and presentation that was and always will be one of a kind. We were all blessed to have experienced the era he ushered in to the music world. It has never been the same since! As to the British lad who clamed Gerry Marsden was better, good luck and I'm glad you are proud of your own backyard boy, but sorry for you...he just could never cut it head to head with the King!

Elvis was a great singer too-he was a big fan of Mario Lanza who died in 1959 at the age of 38. Even though he died 55 years ago -still to this day has fan clubs the world over. Check out Mario's rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone -I think you will like it.

Great rendition of the original song by a great singer - no soccer associations - Gerry's version is much later and is great in a different way, the latter has deservedly become an anthem.
