Alot of comments are focused on who-s the best, Elvis or Beatles, rather then to be on how a song can have some diferent meanings or feelings beeing perfomed by various artists. People tend to transform everthing in a silly contest, and of course, guess what....the winer is allways their favorite.Both names were bigger than life, but in different manners. The Elvis voice is down and warm, making those songs to feel closer to audience. The Beatles Jude sounds a little ironic with a subtle touch of sweet anger. If they had lived and when i say lived ,i say Beatles as a band and Elvis as a person, they would have gained musical maturity. So , please, this is not a competition.

It's a great version but that line about being 'half the man I used to be' seems a dupe. If he'd have said 'I'm about double the size I used to be.....there's a waitress on her way to me......oh I believe in deep fried lard cake,' ........then it might have seemed more authentic somehow.
