This rare studio jam of Tiger Man is perfect to demonstrate Elvis' passion for Karate. He first became involved in the discipline while in the US Army and by the time of his passing, had achieved the 8th degree black belt; Master of the Art.

The name "Tiger" was bestowed on Elvis by his Karate Master, Khang Ree.

The track is from the "Elvis Today" sessions recorded on 11th March, 1975 (available on the Walk A Mile In My Shoes 70s Masters and the Elvis Today FTD)

Enjoy!

"Tiger Man" is actually the classic blues song "Rollin' and Tumblin'" -- but, Elvis knew he had to commercialize it and had it re-written into this. It's been as big a rocker as the original blues track and that -- has kept this fine melody in circulation for decades. This is the way I wished Elvis released more of his songs. Filled with enthusiasm.
