It doesn't sound like he was giving it his all on this one, just going thru the motions. No real effort. Although I love this album, I think this is where his music started changing from powerful (like Elvis from Memphis) to a more relaxed style with no "umph" in any of his songs. For an Elvis fan like me, it makes me sad to know, in hindsight, the direction it would eventually lead.

Three Corn Patches does not seem to be an easy song to sing. It along with two other Stax recordings were a bit of a new/funk direction for Elvis: Raised On Rock and I Got A Feeling In My Body I much prefer If You Talk in Your Sleep, Promised Land, Talk About The Good Times. Mr Songman and Sweet Angeline.

This barely sounds like Elvis, but I know it is him. Been a fan since I was 5 & I won't tell you how old I am now... Anyway, he was having a bad day for sure. But like someone said on here, most people WISH they could sing this good even on their best day! lo We love Elvis, always & forever!l

I may prefer this video for THREE CORN PATCHES because how Elvis is displayed catches my eye more and I can even type to the rhythm here. That usually indicates great dancing can be enjoyed from the tune. We all have have eccentricities and typing to Elvis recordings is truly fun for me. This just means overall your videos are fantastic for me. The visuals are fine, as I have typed prior to this ..... but the sound must GET ME, supernaturally, and yours does.
