On this day in 1957 {August 31st} Elvis appeared at the Empire Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada... Be performed only four songs {"Money Honey", "That's When Your Heartaches Begin", "Hound Dog", and "Jailhouse Rock"}; for after twenty two minutes Col. Parker stopped the concert, he became concerned for Elvis' safety because of the rowdy crowd... This show was the third and last time that Elvis performed outside of the United States... R.I.P. to The King {1935 -1977}...

I love these out takes. Having listened to his studio music all of these years, the interpretations have kind of become imprinted in my brain. To hear what he and the people around him went through to get there is really interesting and a view into the extraordinary creativity and talent that was this man.

Wow, he worked on this song a long time before he got it just the way he wanted it. And the end result was so beautiful! That's why I always think his in studio work was always better than that recorded on stage. He could get it just the way he wanted it.
