This is the last of five videos I created to commemorate today, 16th August and the passing of Elvis Presley. This recording is from Charlotte, NC on 21st Feb, 1977, and is the only time Elvis ever performed this song to a live audience. He had attempted to do so the previous night but cut it short. He resorts to reading the words of the first verse in order to prompt himself to overcome his mental block. The performance may not be top dog, but it is unique as it is the only live version of this song. R.I.P Elvis - I still miss you.

Love this! My dad was the tenor singer with The Stamps during this time. Elvis was the greatest, still is!

I was there! My dad had a cold and couldn't go, so my mom took me, I was blessed to see Elvis live, just a few months later ...he is gone. Thanks Mom.

I do not believe Elvis was fat. When a person gains weight, it's usually all over the body. He seemed to be carrying most of it above the waist and in his face. In my opinion, he looked swollen, not fat and carried a lot of it in his lower face and neck. This is, to me, indicative of congestive heart failure. if he is truly dead, I think his poor heart just gave out or failed.

Jerry, Ronnie & James coulda backed Elvis az a trio and it woulda worked perfect. Between their chemistry & individual talents, I wish there had been some "stripped down" sessionz done with that power trio trifecta topped off by the vox of Elvis. Who knowz, the Beatles "Let It Be" wuz re-issued minus Phil Spector'z "wall of sound" production, maybe RCA/BMG will get hip and that could happen here with some Elvis masterz.
