Hi the Art of Music. you was not there, In the mid 50's the man was Bill Haley. In the UK he had 8 tacks in the top 20. In the film Blackboard Jungle when Rock around the Clock was played cinemas were wrecked. Elvis for rock and roll dancing came after Little Richard, Gene Vincent, Gerry Lee Lewis Buddy Holly and others. Elvis was great though and he stood the test of time.
