During his 1971 winter engagement in Las Vegas, Elvis ended his shows with "The Impossible Dream" instead of "Can't Help Falling In Love" - which had been his closing number in 1969-1970, and would be again from mid-1971 until the end in 1977.
Here is an audience recording of a rare performance by Elvis of "Can't Help Falling In Love" during that 1971 Vegas engagement with the song being performed very early in the set. It was the third song of the show, actually, coming after "I Got a Woman"!
Unfortunately the sound quality is not very good as it is an audience recording, but we are lucky to have it recorded nonetheless! It's a bit strange hearing him perform it this way, isn't it?
