I was a big Elvis Presley fan for a long time. I thought he was terrific. Then I discovered Michael Jackson (a year after he died) and I knew immediately that what I was witnessing was a once-in-a-lifetime talent that was untouchable. So, that began my loss of interest in Elvis and my obsession with Michael. The truth is that Elvis Presley was a very good singer who chose very good songs from other people to sing. And he had charisma and a great way of interacting with his audience (of screaming girls). Michael, on the other hand, was EVERYTHING: an amazing singer, a great songwriter, a spectacular dancer and choreographer, an artist (as in painting and sketching) and one of the greatest humanitarians ever. And, with Michael, it wasn't just screaming girls. It was screaming, crying and fainting boys and girls, men and women, all ages, all races, all nationalities. Elvis was primarily an American celebrity. Michael Jackson was a global star.
