Great song. I used to work for this Rock Station here in Brazil and whenever there was a chance I would sneak-played this track. Thanks for posting.

It's not fair , I haven't written one decent song in my life and he writes one every five minutes.

Or perhaps implied hypocrisy... i.e. People dont live as though they do believe in God ... but as though they DO think of God the Bible as a comic....and God as no more true than Santa.

I believe he may be refering to a book of life which is wriiten of in scripture as being a record of your life by which God will judge you when you die. I dont think the word comic is used to disrespect... merely to refer Gods greatness compared to how great mankind THIINKS it is. Or he may also be suggesting that mankinds behaviour on earth is childish in a mocking way.

could anyone explain the phrase "god's comic" please? Does he mean god IS comic, or is he referring to himself as the comedian of god?

No discussion of his overtly implied atheism? Are you scared? Are you scared?

This version is even more perfect than the recorded album version. This man is just... untouchable. I love how so many of his songs have the power to both break and mend your heart at the same time. He brings meaning to the word 'beauty.'
