It certainly wasn't their usual style, but I think they pulled off a heavier version of Elvenking pretty well in The Scythe. I like the Scythe better, but it's true that Era is more of a return to their folk roots.10 years ago

I find they dumbed down the volume and intensity on the instruments and bumped up the vocals volume, which I'm not a huge fan of, I love the scythe because it's so brutal yet musical. But I can still like this album for what it is, you just gotta get used to it.10 years ago
