Well, actually it hasn't been changed by the english language.... In Switzerland we call it Schwiiz, Suisse, Svizzera and Svizra... so... yeah. Helvetia was more or less the name the romans gave to that area; at some point of the story we became a Confederation, and we became Confederatio Helveticæ (that's why it's CH) aaaand now we are just Switzerland ;)

wow I just learned something by googling it... Eluveitie is the original name of Switzerland f.e. greece is not my country, hellas is my country from the greek Ελλάδα (hellada) we greeks dont say Switzerland instead we say Ελβετία (Helvetia) so they went back and took the original name of their country witch is Eluveitie (Hel-ve-ty) english language changes the original name of many countries
