Too Young by Elton John with Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass. Released on the album 'Ice On Fire' in 1985. Written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Lyrics:

Your mother's eyes look straight through me

Whenever we meet

Your father swears it'll never be

As long as he breaths

And how many times have they told you

That you're too young

How, how I've ached to hold you

But you're too young

If we don't buy what's right or wrong

Then we are sinners

We were never two to tag along

But we were always winners

And how many people, have told you

That you're too young

And how many jealous hands

would love to hold you

`Cause you're too young

Well you're too young to love me

And I'm too old for you

At least that's what they tell us

It's in their book of rules

That you're too young, too young

baby you're too young

We could try it for a while

But they'd get us in the long run

They say that you're too young,

Baby you're too young

WOW!! I bought this album in '86 and it first sounded to me like his lamest album ever. Although sour and bitter sounding, something about it made me play it repeatedly. To me this song sounded lame and the lyrics were rather clumsy: "Your father says it'll never be as long as he breathes" What the hell is this? After a while, this tune grew on me and I must hear it ever so often. Thank you for the video.

John and Roger sure make the best pairing for any rythm section of a band I have ever heard. they both sound so good!

This is my favorite Elton John song. The energy, lyrics, and intrumentation are just are incredible. When I first listened to this song, I was with a young lady a few years younger then me, and it was the perfect song to fit our relationship. But even beyond that, it's a really great song that if it wasn't for the fact that Elton himself dismisses almost all of his music from this era, he'd consider this one of his best as well.
