Here's Elton on the radio with Howard Stern - joking and singing and creating an improvisational song to Howard's lyrics. Sometime in 1986. This is the time when Elton's throat and voice were in lots of trouble - he sounds very bad! Following his massive tour that year he had to go into hospital and have his throat operated on.

Elton should have actually recorded this in a studio. He sings "there's so much crap!" like he's pissed off.

Dude this is so classic. I think It should be found by aliens so they can start a new civilization on this song creating a pretty stable thinking, humble fucked up society that is real and beautiful. I love you Stern. I love you Elton. I love you World!

this is incredible, as howard say's as the improvised tune begins "elton, you're so prolific". he's improvising it on the spot! and it's an epic elton song... wow. the question is, why aren't all elton's post peak (basically the last 30 years) songs this good? the early stuff was, but look how effortless this is. i remember listening that morning, and actually had a cassette of this for years.
