It's hard to feel what's in your head Where the gas lamps grow And the garbage blows Around the paper stands And a baby cried And I saw a light And I wondered where And I wondered why There'd be a loss of life Down here tonight Down on Western Ford Gateway That's a place where the dead say That a man lives no more Than his fair share of days Down on Western Ford Gateway It flowed upon the cobbled floor For the bottle's dead And they're drunk again By the tavern door...

Under-rated greatness. This song SHOULD have been a hit 45!

This is EJ's best song in my opinion. It's more amazing than anything MJ's done. Stop comparing MJ and EJ, Elton is a Sir. for a reason.

Yeah, this song came out about 3 years after Ben Folds was born so if anyone is ripping someone off it's the other way around.

@mrebus Certainly a musical genius and far in advance of his time.

Approvo.

This album nowadays would slice away most awards in almost every category...those who are blind to see are not to be punished...because they were problably born after the 80s! There is no way of comparison...but we are the lucky ones who got in touch with Elton through this album and then performing in L. A. Troubadour ---

@phukdupcheese The time you want to hear him is when he was young too, like here.

I'm right there with you, it may be weird that I'm 18 and obsessed with Elton, but I don't care, his music has changed my life and I'm thankful that I was introduced to it when I was young.

@phukdupcheese I'm so glad I watched Lion King at a young age to give me time to become obsessed with Elton and learn every single song he's ever performed :)

whoa, this song is bad ass. im so glad my father forced me to listen to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, otherwise i would never have become obsessed with Elton John.
