Even though the movie itself wasn't among Brooks' best... somehow, this song at the end over the soundtrack... just made it seem so much grander than it all really was. And... somehow, this song just made "The Muse" become a grand film experience overall...John has always had that magic star-dust... always...

@alabama5150 When speaking of Jerry Lieber and Nick Ashford, they predominately wrote "lyrics". The "songs" were written by their respective partners (Stoller and Simpson). The point was that Elevis was not the first to record "Hound Dog". Both Lieber/Stoller and Ashford/Simpson songs have some of best lyrics, regardless. "I, Who Have Nothing", by Ben E. King or by Tom Jones - it doesn't really matter which version you prefer, the lyrics don't change.

@dd you are confusing the word Song, with Lyrics, to Compose music There a point when I feel the music is finished, or at itsmost beautiful sound, the beauty is at the fullest. i like to say expanded. Songs for Movies are with pusrpose which may differ. Back to Future expanded, Ghostbusters-not , IMO. Daring attempts=Buckingham's Tusk, Harrison's Universe, Wilson's Theramin,Poppers Harmonica. IZ's Rainbow become a unique common demoninator. It a use of BOTH. The story is fascinating,

@ddsharper - There is no doubt that what you say is true! But the point is, music (not the spoken word) is a univesally accepted process. A beautiful tune is beautiful to 100% of all people. After the invention of an instrument that could play multiple notes simultaneously, everybody began to use chords - as for Pat and Elvis - try Jerry Lieber "who actually wrote", "hound dog" who died the same day as Nick Ashford "who wrote" . . .

@ddsharper - I completely understand and agree with you AND "ArtieForYou". Since "How" we speak is determined by only one factor-"who" we hear speak. The evolution of all music is the same way. The first time I heard EJ, I realized that he played "gospel" piano (or at least his version of it). That's not a bad thing because the blues and gospel chords had to come from somewhere too - it's a imitation/flattery and evolutionary thing (like classical in 60's music). As a musician, I love it all

Apparently "ddsharper" doesn't know shit about music. "Composed using stolen chords?" LOL Since when do we come up with original chord when composing songs? Following your line of thought all those chords were stolen from Chopin.
