As a kid I loved this song but I didn't really get it. For me, as a grade schooler, it was a song with great melody and acoustic guitar that was funny because he said "godammit". But seeing posted here now through 49 year old eyes (beautifully done with lyrics), I see it's really a strong statement. A powerful opinion (and really mockery) of certain attitudes in areas of The US at the time. Great job and thanks for posting.
