Gorgeous song. No one can compare to the true king of rock and roll. Listen to the off radio Elton to really appreciate the genius. Awe inspiring. Simply the best.

This makes me extremely happy. Anybody have any Honky Chateau like demos or stripped down tracks? I know tumbleweed and elton john albums had expanded editions released containing demos, but never saw or heard any honky demos.??? anybody?

Nope, I'd have to totally disagree with you on that. The piano has 88 keys and with those same keys, there are dozens and dozens of chords that could be made and played. Plus, he's also not just playing chords in here that don't require practice and repetition. Maybe if a person has been playing for a number of years and has the required background of knowing chords can they play this song, whichever one you're talking about, but none of Elton's songs seem and appear to be "incredibly easy"!

@MyRickyz ...you might be right about other songs, but my guess is that these are isolated tracks from the original studio sessions- probably with scratch vocal tracks. Elton didn't "put out" these versions. But I do like 1975 Elton the best... and Zeppelin and Jeff Beck too!

@beyondonethousand ...You voted thumbs down because you like the album version better. Oh, lets see: The album version has a full band with drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion, background singers, and multi-layered tracks... and this falls flat compared to it?? OF COURSE IT DOES!!! Have one guy play Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and it'll fall flat next to a 90-piece orchestra too!!! Judge this on it's merits- one guy, playing one song, on one piano. How do you like it on it's own??

@honkycabbit ...this song is "incredibly easy"?? You must have considerable skill to say that. Easy for you does not necessarily mean easy for everyone else. Look at it this way: I play guitar. I've performed Stevie Ray Vaughan's Couldn't Stand the Weather countless times.... I can do it easily. But does that mean it's easy TO DO? Can you do it? It's all relative, my friend. Be proud that you have worked up the skill, don't belittle it.

@beyondonethousand trust me it doesn't fall flat. this is the best thing i've ever found on youtube, especially from a pianist's point of view

this song is actually incredibly easy to play on the piano, once you figure out the right chords.
