Another totally underrated song. The music, especially the middle instrumental with the guitar, piano and strings are haunting but a masterpiece from the genius of both Bernie & Elton collaborating. When I got this album in '73, I thought there was a lot of tunes that could have been given more air time...but the whole album was a classis and keeper for sure.

This feels like a song that is so good, it really should be bigger than just a song on the album. Everyone brings up "Rocket Man" and "Bennie and the Jets", but I had to really look to find this one, and it's amazing!

Glad I got to some of his concerts back in the 70s. There were times when he played and you could hear a pin drop in the audience and in the next song have us dancing on the seats. Don't recall hearing this one live, one of my favorites.

No doubt EJ's people are scrubbing YT for all his material.The video is very clever. Clever enuf to distract you from the song. So, it might be best to listen to the song first and after you go thru a few kleenexes, then watch the video. Just read that the guitar solo was recorded backwards (my understanding that the song was played in reverse then the guitar track laid down)...very interesting. An awesomely timeless song.
