Elton John's very first single. He had had two single releases with his band Bluesology, under the name "Reg Dwight" but this song was the very first recorded appearance of "Elton John". Although recorded in 1967, the single, backed with "Here's to the Next Time", was released in March 1968. The label gave songwriting credit to Elton John-Bernie Taupin, but Taupin later admitted he had nothing to do with the song. Produced by Elton's friend and guitarist Caleb Quaye.
