Elton John's third single, released a month before his first album "Empty Sky" in May 1969. Caleb Quaye on guitar, Roger Pope on drums & Tony Murray on bass. Produced by Steve Brown and arranged by Cy Payne.
It was Elton's first single to be released in Japan and was actually a hit.... two tears later! The only live recording of this song is from Elton's concert in Tokyo in 1971.
An Italian cover of the song by Maurizio Vandelli (of Equipe 84) was actually a hit in Italy. The song was translated as "Era lei" which means "That was her."
