Actually I like this version at least as much as the ones when he was younger. It isn't too hard to be "still standing" when you're young and beautiful. Plowing through this song precisely *in spite* of the obvious increased difficulty is exactly what the lyrics are about.10 years ago

I think it has to do with the fact that he presses his mouth against the microphone. Maybe he has a hard time hearing himself or just habit. In this day and age of sound technology, you would think that wouldn't be necessary.10 years ago

He should stop performing this song live. It's out of his range nowadays. Like people have commented, his enunciation is really poor in this song and he's very flat on any high parts. He's got a ton of songs that fit his range these days, he should stick to those. I love him though.10 years ago
