Someone mentioned that Dream Theater's version is catchier and "rockier". What....Elton's version isn't catchy and it doesn't rock? Good Fuckin' Grief?

I could never tire of hearing and seeing Elton play and sing! In an interview I watched some years ago, he explained that he'd had to have throat surgery. He was concerned that he'd never sing again. However, the surgery deepened his voice an octave or 2 and he liked it! He can't hit those high notes anymore, but his voice has a 'fuller' sound to it. I like it too!

Elton John can play a piano like NOBODY'S business.. I've been LUCKY enough to be to 3 to of his concerts and OMG he puts on a show.. he can play that piano with his back turned....he can play it with one hand..HELL he could probably play it standing on his head if he wanted to. Oh, and his singing??!!! Well, this man, I've been to A LOT of concerts in my dad Eagles, Journey, too many greats to list..even saw Elton with the great Clapton..Sir Elton is right up there in the top 5 of all time!!!!

@mdanby I could not agree with you more. I am a child of the 60's and also saw his shows on numerous occaisions. Prolly the best piano player of our time.

i like his voice now than before the surgey. more quality voice now. how i wish to see him live in concert like this one. i never miss his videos here and i feel contented with his songs. so inspiring! thank you elton john..

His voice definitely sounds lower here than in his earlier performances. I guess that's what time does to one's voice when you must strain it to sing along. Still, a great song by a super artist! And one of my all time favorites!

I prefer the cover done by dream theater but the original is pretty cool, and eliton did write the song so I guess no cover beats the original by principal.
