The key isn't good for them so they are finding their way. That is why they aren't harmonizing either or they don't remember the arrangement. Listen to the original studio track Elton sang the shit out it. Gladys sounds good here though. This probably wasn't rehearsed. It has nothing to do with the front of house sound either. or mics. Also they are making adjustments because they don't have the range they once did like in their 30's or 40's that's simple truth of it all. Good song though.
