I saw this concert at Madison Square Garden in 1974 thanksgiving day. John Lennon surprise encore. Almost 50 years later this album is one of the best ever. The partnership between bernie and elton can only be rivaled not topped by Lennon McCartney. One of the top 10 of all time

When this song came out, a gaggle of local conservative housewives decided to start a "boycott Elton John from the radio" drive because they couldn't understand the lyrics and were convinced it was about "Satan & drugs."  This only encouraged me and my fellow 3rd grade hoodlums to listen to this song non-stop.
