The Electric Light Orchestra are one of the most successful British bands of all time. Formed after the break up of The Move in 1970 they pioneered the integration of orchestral instruments into pop music and released a series of groundbreaking and increasingly successful albums through the seventies that culminated in the multi-million selling Out Of The Blue. This concert is from the world tour for that album and was filmed at London's Wembley Arena in 1978.

The whole of this incredible concert is available on special edition DVD "Out of the Blue - Live at Wembley", out now on Eagle Vision.

Great concert caught this on Netflix a while back. I know some folks who went to this tour they said it was awesome.

In some videos I've seen of this song, Richard is playing a Polymoog. In this song, it looks like he is playing a Yamaha synth possibly a CS-80 although I didn't think he got that synth until the Discovery album.

Congratulations Jeff Lynne on your upcoming Star on the Walk of Fame! And, while I am at it, it was awesome to watch you perform on the Grammys!

First time I've ever heard this song. It's beautiful. :) I only found out who Jeff Lynne was the other day.

Who in the fuck gives a shit about the rock n' roll hall of fame? It is Rolling Stone magazine's Critics Hall of Shame. The Sex Pistols, who recorded only 1 studio album, made it in the Hall the very 1st year they become eligible and their 1 album never even cracked the Top 100 in the USA and it took 12 years for it to reach platinum sales status in the UK. To top it all off, the Sex Pistols refused to show up at their induction ceremony and they called the Hall of Fame a "piss stain". Bravo!

This is sooooo Beatles. Got to love Jeff Lynne & ELO. The missing BritPop link between the Beatles/Kinks & XTC.

I'm buying this DVD. ELO's music has survived the test of time - and still sounds as great as ever. So many of their songs have endured and still take me back to my past.....

How ELO is not in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame is a travesty. I refuse to recognize the legitimacy of the RNR HOF until ELO is inducted.
