Originally written and performed by Elliott's high school band Stranger than fiction and then recorded during the either/or era and then seemingly hidden away till now Enjoy :)

Holy shit that guitar solo. I mean, I knew Elliott was an amazing guitar player... but wow! Seriously the gnarliest thing he's ever done.

This track was a mystery that was found as Larry Crane was finishing up New Moon and I was searching his vaults for unreleased tracks to include on this project. The song seemingly came out of nowhere at the perfect time, and appeared to be a one off attempt that no one knew existed, or had ever even heard before, found unlabeled in the middle of an untitled DAT tape. It was a surreal experience that I will never forget, finding this lost track and hearing Elliott’s voice echo through the studio playback as Larry packed up the Jackpot! studio that Elliott had once helped him to build to move to its new location. It wasn’t until later, when Larry was mixing it, that we realized this was a solo reworking of a song originally done by his high school band called Stranger Than Fiction that appeared on a cassette that was passed around to our friends at Lincoln High School in downtown Portland.

this track appears on my benefit concept album "Live From Nowhere Near You Volume 2" which gives profits to the homeless charity that was just down the street from the high school that Elliott and I went to in Portland OR. there is a track he did with Neil Gust / No 2 also included... check it out! XOXO Kevin

This is one of the longest and best guitar solos ive ever heard in his songs. The guitar solo at the end proves he is a great guitarist and he even used an overdrive in this one... he kinda sounds like a mix of slash and van halen here...

Hi. One quick correction (as i did the Live From Nowhere Near You albums)... the track was not left off the first album due to name. I had wanted to get Elliott on Vol1 but that was during his downward spiral / getting clean timeperiod so we were unable to make it happen. At that point, we were hoping he would write a new song but nothing ever happened because we couldn't connect. Sadly he passed away after Vol1 released, so when we began work on Vol2 I went into the studio to find this track.
