Just my opinion but, Elliott smith is often compared to Kurt Cobain and, while they are comparable Smith is so superior to Cobain in pretty much every way. Better musician, lyricist, and Smith was genuine, you can just see it in his eyes that he never wanted to be a revolutionary. He was a person like you or me, Cobain was definitely famous for not caring but, he was so judgemental and honestly hateful. Cobain wasn't genuine. This is coming from a huge Nirvana fan but, Cobain receives way too much respect and admiration. Sure he was a great rocker but, he wasn't as talented as his fans like to make him out to be. He wasn't the next John Lennon and infact he wasn't really that great of a lyricist. He was the voice of an angsty underclass and nothing more. Keep it in perspective, Nirvana wasn't the only angsty pissed off band of the 90's, how about Greenday, Pearl Jam, Radiohead or any number of other groups. Nirvana is often credited with recreating the music industry, taking us from the hairmetal era to a more alt rock era, that's true but, it's not because they did anything we hadn't seen before, it's because they got the shit publicized out of them! Cobain was marketable not redefining. Smith while not totally "NEW", was an artist not a rockstar. Truthfully, Smith was one of the most original musicians I've ever heard. He was the real next John Lennon, John Lennon 2.0 new and improved. Again Nirvana rocks hard and I love every album but it's time to grow up and realize you can't mess with the best. RIP Smith & Cobain you sad Fucks

alcoholics often feel cursed with bad dreams, alcohol seems to be a cure but it doesn't cure the problem for very long. "this sick i want", btw. anyone drinking themselves to death would get this song pretty quick powerful song. thanks for the post.
