I think Elliot smiths music is amazing I see some ppl comenting that I have to be medicated to enjoy this music but u strongly disagree I recently started listening to Elliot smith and the first time I heard angelas it never occurred to me that this music should be seen as sad and depressing ppl should stop being so negative towards amazing music like this why do ppl have to criticise just enjoy it

Elliott Smith was nothing short of a musical genius..most of his songs (especially from the early albums) are simple in terms of instrumentation and yet instantly recognizable and unlike the songs of any other songwriter. And his lyrics just spoke to the soul. Such a shame that he was in so much pain..Well anyway..I wanted to recommend a song from an underground artist which reminded me of him. Check out "Seaside - Meditation" - it has some of the haunted mood and calmness of this song, in my opinion.
