There are two songs from my childhood that bring back magical memories for me. One, "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter, Paul, and Mary was always the song I sang that transported me to a whimsical world that I spent most of my time in and two, "Go Tell Aunt Rhodie" by Ella Jenkins. This song takes me back to quiet evenings at my grandparent's house, surrounded by cousins, feather beds, lightning bugs, and the men folk sitting out on the porch playing Dominoes and spitting tobacco. It is close to me heart for sure. I couldn't find an earlier post that someone started about childhood songs so I ask you here. Did you have one that you loved dearly? I don't care how old I get, I will treasure these songs until the day I die.

Comeing from a urban neighborhood. It's weird that i like all this folk music, but for some reason it reminds me of home. guess, it's all the Afro-hippies that raised me..I'm also big into Blues --- Jazz --- Big Band Swing.
