I found myself humming the song to myself when I was really sad and it made me feel better. Such a simple song, yet it has such a universally poignant effect on so many people. It may be it's lyrical simplicity which allows it to have that ubiquitous quality, which seems to unite people with a commonly shared emotional desire.
