yep. it's one of four main punjabi tragedies. i think there was a happier version written first, but then they made it into a tragedy which gained more attention.

Oh I take that back I suppose it just may be Bulle Shah's. I know for a fact that Heer was written by Waris Shah. Heer has been written by many Sufi poets, but I was mistaken because Its Waris' Heer that is most popular today in Punjab.
