I think this fits in with the story of "Time." Same with all the other bonus tracks in the CD re-release. This one works well as the last track, because in the end, the speaker realises that he will never again be with the one he loves. IMO, the whole album is an analogy of the development of people and how they change through time.

This song poses the same situation as "The Way Life's Meant To Be", when he came back and find that everything has changed; I think this could be the reason to take it out.

I played it TO DEATH on my tape recorder. Literally. The tape broke.

This is a great Lynne arrangement, tempo and timpani, bells and bright harmonies. But I like "The Lights go Down." Throw out "Hold on Tight," a repetitive mediocrity which has little to do with the "Time" theme.

This is a great tune, why wasn't it on the original album? So much better than "The Lights Go Down". Would have also liked to have seen When Time Stood Still somewhere on the original album. Feel like it fits better than Another Heart Breaks

It's a great song. Maybe Jeff felt it was to similar to other songs on the album

Time was an epic album. But I still don't get how this song didn't make the cut (although I'm not sure which song I would have sacrificed to make space for it, either). That summer, I think this B-side was the most played tune on radio stations around Europe. -Right up there with Hold On Tight. It remains one of my all-time ELO favorites and I'm curious to hear Jeff's explanation to how he chose to demote it to a non-album B-side.

The best song of the whole lot and Jeff didn't put it on the album...still shaking my head after 30 years....

I got a comment. Who dropped the ball on promoting this as a single for the radio?
