There's 2 very simple reasons why Governments may not acknowledge the existence of aliens. 1. There may be no such thing as Aliens. 2. Acknowledging them makes them a legally recognizable entity. Thus, they could be used in court as a defense. I doubt Aliens would respond to a subpoena.

@makeminea99 The majority of the English-speaking world spells it with an "e". As a surname it's more commonly spelled with an "a", but only in the United States or territories thereof is the colour spelled with an "a".

@raptorrave Interesting interpretation but the spelling isn't with an 'e' and Aliens >are< widely acknowledged so the lyric doesn't really support this idea. The key line is 'All the calls I get are mistakes', so isn't it about a guy with no friends? Alternatively remember their involvment with the Bliss Corp, maybe it's a take on the sort of 'I should be famous' letters they would recieve or approaches they would get.
