Song of the Day 15-034 Editors—The WeightLargely disappointed in Editors The Weight Of Your Love album. so much so, that i only found merit in an included bonus track on the Deluxe Edition (Get Low).It's been awhile since i've tolerated it's tracks as iTunes' fucked up algorithm that insists on inserting music purchased through the Store to be included in Shuffles. regularly, through the week, i want to punch the guys responsible for this. I often find myself skipping past these and other unwanted tracks. The Weight Of Your Love is a huge contributor to this cycle and i find myself at times regretting purchasing the album.With that said… i heard The Weight — the opening track to this affliction — this morning and i rediscovered it's pretty good. Tom Smith's talents are on show and the quieter direction doesn't seem a misstep. though as the opener, it's incredibly misleading. What follows causes the punching to start anew.
