Another great Canadian performer we googled tonight. This style was brought to Louisiana with the expulsion of the Acadians to evolve into Zydeco & Cajun music down there. Can't beat my french peasant ancestry for rhythm and fun :-)

Pas toujours facile pour un français de faire la différence entre l'accent du New-Brunswick, du Québec, du Lac Saint-Jean et de la "nova scottia"... C'est un peu comme si je te demandais de faire la différence entre le Français du Nord (langue d'Oil), et le Français du Sud (Langue d'Oc)...+ les centaines de dialectes de la vieille Françe :)

The thing you call "ole fashion french accent" isn't old at all. Edith Butler doesn't have an accent. She sings like "Zachary Richard"... No accent, or maybe a very very litlle one... :)

Acadians and Cajuns have the same origins, you're right. The only différence is that Acadians still speaks French, the Cajuns speaks a mix of differents languages and dialects...
