Amazing. My brother Phil Meyerowitz and Joel Coen, (Yes THE Joel Coen were both working for me as apprentice film editors for Edna and Friends, Inc. in NYC in the early eighties, when this editing job came in. The President of the company, Edna Ruth Paul was out of town that week, so the three of us did the editing. It was great fun. Now 32 some odd years later, it re-surfaces again. Unbelievable!!!

I was fortunate enough to see Molly Hatchet do this song live and included three of the band members shown here: Danny Joe, Bobby Ingram, and Buzzy Meekins (Peppermint Beach Club, Va Beach, 1991).

The very best of all the southern voices.. no slight to the VZ or Almand bros- but Danny was in a league of his own? Need proof? Listen to DJB sing freebird.
