I can't believe I've never heard this before. I was born in 1959 so 3 years after this was such a big hit. I wonder if it's what gave my mother the idea to name me Cindy (or rather Cynthia which I hate). Growing up there were always at least 2 Cindy's in every class or another Cindy on every job I ever took and I decided to change my name to something unusual so I could quit hearing "I meant her not you" when I heard my name, or being called "the other Cindy." Now when I hear Alondra I know they mean me! Now there's nothing wrong with Cindy but in my case it's too common. But I've made a lot of good friends with that name and some I wouldn't have been that close with if we hadn't shared that name. Still I am Alondra. My mother hates it but it's my life lol!

When my mom was trying to decide what to name me, this song was playing in the delivery room when I was born! It's a whole lot better than being named Bernadine, Bernadette, or Louise!

Ref Clarence. It is wonderful that all this old stuff has been put onto new-fangled ( old fashioned now) CDs. I have bought obscure discs that I somehow missed first time around. Bear Records the place to look first.

Memories of being an apprentice, 1953 to 1958. Frankie Laine, Guy Mitchell, Johnny Ray etc etc. I loved this song and most of Eddie Fisher's records, similar to Pat Boone. Happy days.

A really lovely song, there is also an alternative good version by Waylon Jennings I love both versions. My granddad favourite together with Oh Mein Papa also by Eddie.

This is the song that gave me my name. It was at the top of the charts when my mum was pregnant and my dad used to sing it all the time.
