I've been in love with that song for the last 20 years... It is probably one of the best tunes ever created... Completely amazing how so much feeling can be put in music... I simply cannot understand why is not a huge public listening to it

About 8 years ago walking around Chester and I heard this wonderfull music and wondered if Id died and gone to heaven ! I had to see where it was coming from it was Ed .Iv got all of his cds have seen him busk about 6 times and have to say this video makes the people of York look like fools as to hear his music live is something you must stop and listen to if you have a soul !

Why is he on the streets? He is a very well respected asrtist with uniquely beautiful music! When I first saw the video I thought it was some guy playing Ed Alleyne Johnson's tracks! From what I've read in here this is actually him! Why isn't he playing in concert halls? Please forgive my ignorance!

First time I heard this wasn't on a classical music radio station, but on Alan Freeman's Saturday Rock Show on Radio 1 in 1993. I remembered I was driving and I had to stop the car, when this came on, because it was so beautiful and hair raising !!! Very few tunes do this, but this one nearly brought a tear to my eye !!!! If I was walking there , I would have stopped and listened to it !!!

I would stop and listen for the entire day and give him a $50 dollar bill, if I had it. I'm flipping serious. I would. He's amazing. And no one even STOPPED. It's insane. He's one of the coolest people I've ever seen! He's so calm, he never talks. His clothes are cool. He's awesome. EDIT: Okay, so maybe 5 people stopped. The other 250 people... There are no words that express my disappointment in them.

@medcalfpump I live in York, and you can hear him from 200 yrds away! Whenever I'm in town I listen out for him, I think I've seen him 2 or 3 times now. He plays everything perfectly!

As with Chester, the residents of York have no idea how fortunate they are. The rumble of thunder only enhances the atmosphere he creates - such sublime music that even the Gods want to join in. I find myself getting slightly upset watching Ed's vids on utube - so few people seem to stop, or give money - shame on them, it could change their lives. If there was a way of knowing when he was performing on the streets of York/Chester, I would happily travel from London to see him. Any ideas anyone?

I feel sorry for those soulless creatures passing by in ignorance, drowned in routine and misery. They should listen to him just fo a second, just for a blink of an eye, that would make them better, happier, that would bring some joy in to theyr lives. Ed I envy Your talent and Your strength. You are truly great. I hope to shake Your hand one day and be blessed with Your presence. Beer's on me :)
