Since there is no East Village yet on YouTube, I thought I'd add some..
Active in the late eighties and early nineties, this lot brought some of the nicest moodiest autumnal pop songs with a strong sixties influence. Never came much further than supporting McCarthy and the House of Love, though now there is a new interest in their music.

Paul Kelly ended up in another great band called Birdie with Debsey Wykes - one of Saint Etienne's collaborators (the pics above actually show one of the band Birdie). Their records were even more gorgeous!13 years ago
