I'm Shanghaii, don't have the nature to know many classical Hollywood movies, but this melody is one of the greatest movie music ever! I know music, so when I fly-by over a great one, I recognize it right away, enjoy it on piano2, and keep it for my soul as another piece of great treasure. Does anybody have a link to the overture at the beginning of the movie? That is what I want to hear again. This theme is nice, but the overture... That's what I think really captures the feel of this movie.

Loved the music as I loved the film.  In my opinion James Dean's best performance out of the three movies he did.  So sad he  did not live longer.  I do believe he would have become one of the best actors ever.

The problem with the movie was it only focused on the last part of the story. The music is pretty but the masterpiece that lee Holdridge did for the mini series was magnificent. Jane Seymour won an an Emmy for her evil portrayal   of Cathy. The score as well as the miniseries are both available to watch and listen to on utube, my favorite site to go to. The movie was good for it's time but it couldn't go where it needed to being made in the 1950's.
