Some might disagree. But I find hints of continental Marlene Dietrich in Kitt's presentation. Which is certainly a compliment to Kitt. And I feel Kitt owns Cole Porter's, "My heart belongs to daddy."

Different from the film version, musically and lyrically. My Uncle played this for me and explained one line for me, which he said brought down the house: "Sherman Billingsley cooks for me..." Billingsley owned the Stork Club restaurant, which, at the time, did not allow Black customers. Also, in the movie, (Arturo) Toscanini plays Bop for her, not Harry S. Truman, which makes a bit more sense.

I'm a huge fan of her work. Obsessed maybe? Other than my workout/running music I only listen to her. I have a decent collection of her life's work but always looking for more that I don't yet have. Amazing woman. Her daughter Kitt Shapiro has a Facebook page, if you see my comment here, go 'like' her page. Love love love this woman. Really makes my heart sad that she is no longer with us.
